Whale Cottage sleeps 5 to 7 and is a historic fisherman's cottage almost sitting on the beach at Whitehills. The cottage is one of the closest cottages to the sea in Whitehills. From the appropriately named "Whale Watching Snug", passing whales and dolphins may be seen.
Whale Cottage is a spacious seaside cottage comfortably sleeping 5 people in three bedrooms or 7 people if the downstairs sofa bed is used. The cottage boasts a large lounge, a separate Whale Watching Snug or sitting room, a dining kitchen, a downstairs bathroom with bath and shower over, 3 upstairs bedrooms and an upstairs cloakroom with toilet and sink.
The cottage is very comfortably furnished with an eclectic mix of antiques and modern furniture. The lounge has a beautiful blue tartan sofa and a leather sofa bed which can double up as a bed. In addition there is a Victorian tartan easy chair. There is the original Victorian fireplace with a solid fuel stove. The television and DVD player sits on top of an antique Victorian chest of drawers. There are windows on both sides of the room with the main window looking out over the sea. Leading off the lounge is the "Whale Watching Snug". There is a wicker sofa and an antique Victorian easy chair in traditional tweed. From the sofa the window looks directly out to sea. The view is uninterrupted and could not be closer unless the cottage sat on the beach itself.
The dining kitchen is fully fitted and there is an antique Victorian dining table with 7 original bentwood wooden chairs available throughout the cottage. There is a washing machine, electric oven and hob, dishwasher and microwave as well as all of the normal crockery, cutlery, pots and pans. There are windows on both sides, again the main window looks out along the coast.
The bathroom is a good size with a bath and shower over.
On going upstairs the first bedroom is a double bedroom with a traditional kingsize sleigh bed. There are antique bedside tables and hanging space is provided on the back of the door and on the wall within the bedroom. The ceilings are combed and the roof window looks out over the sea. The next bedroom is the single bedroom which has a larger than single painted antique French sleigh bed. The pretty painted bed is complimented by the brightly painted Asian bedside cabinet. Hanging space is provided on the door. Further along the hallway is the upstairs cloakroom with a toilet and sink. Finally there is the second double bedroom with another traditional kingsize sleigh bed. There is an antique bedside table and a fitted double wardrobe. Again the ceilings are combed and the roof window looks out over the sea.
